Last night I finally finished Batman Arkham City. Not the main story mind you, I finished that some time ago. No, I finally finished the damn Riddler side mission.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a good value and I definitely got that here. I picked up Arkham City (PS3) for only $30 during a Best Buy sale only a week or two after release. Sadly, I only got around to playing it a couple of weeks ago.
As it was, I had found around 300 of the 440 total riddles by the time I finished the main story line. I could have left it at that, but decided for completeness sake I would finish all of the side missions, including the Riddler, which requires finding 400 riddles.
The other side missions didn’t take long to finish, but damn what a pain in the ass it was to find all of those damn Riddler trophies. I actually had to use a walkthrough and cheat for the last 8, I had just had enough by that time. Unfortunately, the reward for all of my hard work (grinding) was a short, easy to complete, not very Riddler “like” final mission. Disappointing to say the least.
Note that the game was great otherwise.
