A couple of things since I last posted about this. The other day I was at WalMart and I noticed a full pallet of Old El Paso boxes with the Cineplex free movie candy offer. So they should be out in full force everywhere very soon.
The other thing I discovered is that it looks like the movie passes will be handled differently this year.
In previous years, the pass was physically located on the prospective box of cereal and you simply cut it out and took it to the theatre. It seems that this year the cereal boxes will instead contain a redemption code that can be used to obtain a pass.
If you head on over to http://lifemadedelicious.ca/freemovieoffer you can see what I mean. This page mentions redeeming a code for a Cineplex movie ticket.
Apparently the page doesn’t fully open until February 1st.
What do you guys think?

I think it’s lame that this year you have to enter TWO codes to get a pass, whereas in past years you got a pass on EACH box. It definitely isn’t enough incentive to make me buy the products this year, as I’d rather just go see a movie on a Tuesday night (which works out cheaper than buying two boxes of cereal). Bummer that the food bank will lose out, since that’s where all the cereal I bought just to get the movie passes went in previous years.
Actually, you only need a single code for a free movie when you buy one of the listed General Mills cereals. My son loves the Almond Oatmeal Crisp, so it works out well. I’ve already seen 6 free movies this month and I will probably see another two this week.
