GoogleMaps – MIA Update 3

On March 23, 2011, in Random, Technology, by ComputerAbuser

Previously I wrote on how my home area was initially missing from GoogleMaps, but that after sending in a complaint it was updated.

The initial response from Google stated that I would be notified after the update.  After I noticed that my area was added back in I assumed I would hear back from Google, but I didn’t.  At least, not until a couple a weeks ago when I received this e-mail….

Hi ComputerAbuser,

Google Maps has been updated to correct the problem you reported. You can see the update here, and if you still see a problem, please tell us more about the issue:  Link to view and/or reopen issue

Report history
Problem ID: BC99-8334-xxxx-xxxx

Your report: My whole area is no longer listed. Sadly Bing and MapQuest have it listed. 🙁 Streetview still works.

Thanks for your help,
The Google Maps team

It took a little over 3 months between me noticing that it was updated and being notified about the update.  I’m not complaining though.  I love Google Maps and they updated it within a few weeks of my report, which is pretty damn good considering they probably get a crap load of complaints/reports every single day.
